The frog work in progress

This was a commission for my friend's Bob and Pam. Pam loves frogs and Bob wanted to surprise her with this mosaic for her birthday.

Making the flowers

Filling in the frogs body, he has toenails now. Made the lilly

Added the lilly pads, the dragon fly, the other lilly and filled in the background. The background is easy until you come up against part of the picture, it takes thousands of little nibbles to complete this mosaic!

Grouting! Have I ever told you that grouting is NOT my favorite part of the process. Do you see how dirty it is? I'm wearing a mask because I want to be able to breath well into the future :)

Yay, it's finished! Even though grouting is no fun it sure is the finishing touch that pulls together the mosaic. By the way my multi-talented husband makes the angle iron frames that I sometimes set my mosaics into. The making of the frames is quite a process itself!
